School To Careers is a partnership between Education, Employers, Organized Labor and Community Groups with the goal of offering students education, training and work based experiences that will lead to high skilled well paying careers. As a senior student at GCIT you will have the opportunity to obtain paid employment in your trade area. Initially all students must be recommended by their Program Instructor to apply to the School to Careers Office. After completing the necessary paperwork, job development will ensue. A formal interview process will take place and ultimately employment in the student’s field of study may be achieved. Once employed, each student will be responsible to maintain weekly timesheets. A School To Careers Coordinator will visit the student every two weeks to ensure a successful transition from school to work. Supported employment services are also available to any student who qualifies. This includes, Job Development, Job Placement and Job Coaching on a one on one basis with each student.
