Cisco Regional Academy
The Gloucester County Institute of Technology is an approved Cisco Systems, Inc. Local and Regional Cisco Networking Academy. As a Regional Academy, GCIT offers training support to high schools, colleges, organizations, and vocational technical schools that are integrating Cisco training programs into their curricula. As a Local Academy, GCIT offers the Cisco curriculum for high school students. This program is designed to teach students how to design, build and maintain computer networks. Using proven networking curriculums, students at GCIT will be taught the conceptual and technical skills to design, install, operate and maintain state-of-the-art computer networks. Graduates of the Academy program will have acquired the skills necessary to take the Cisco Certified Entry Level Technician (CCENT), Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA), or the Network+ certification exams. The CCENT, CCNA, and Network+, along with other certifications, position students for immediate openings in the job market or for computer engineering focused studies. We also offer Cisco's IT Essentials, a CompTIA approved curriculum for students desiring the A+ computer support and repair certification.
As a Regional Academy Training Center, we will assist schools in starting up a local academy. This includes providing the necessary information and teacher training, as well as ongoing support and professional development.
Local Cisco Academies under GCIT: Delsea Regional High School, Camden County Technical Schools, Camden High School, Woodrow Wilson High School, Atlantic-Cape Community College, and Charter Tech High School.
