Academy of Digital Media

Students in the Academy of Digital Media will have the opportunity to learn and apply graphic arts and video production skills. As they work on numerous class projects they will gain the skills they need to create ‘real world’ projects such as designing brochures and artwork and making videos for various companies, events, contests and functions. Students are tasked with creative projects throughout the year, including illustrating an animated character that represents them, and directing, filming and editing videos.

Collaborative projects with internal clubs and organizations and outside businesses are a large part of the Digital Media learning experience. Featured projects include:

 • The Gloucester County Highway Safety Task Force ‘Drive to Stay Alive’ PSA contest

 • The 10 Day Film Challenge

 • SkillsUSA Digital Media skills contests at the State and National levels

 • Branding project where students design and present a logo to clients at a Philadelphia firm

 • Commercials cooperative with the Drama and Business departments

In addition, the academy curriculum prepares students with certifications in the digital media field including becoming Adobe Certified Associates in Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and InDesign. Earning these certifications proves to employers and colleges that students have the necessary skills needed to succeed. All academy students have an opportunity to experience an internship with businesses specializing in areas related to their career theme.

Graduating students have majored in Digital Forensics, Graphic Design, Communications, Video Game Design & Programming, Web Design & Development, and more.
