About Us
The School Based Youth Services Program (SBYS) offers GCIT students individual and family counseling, recreational activities, career/employment exploration, leadership opportunities and other supportive services. SBYS is generously funded through a grant from the New Jersey Department of Children and Families, Division of Family and Community Partnerships.
The mission of SBYS is to improve the emotional well-being of teens and assist them to earn their diploma while maintaining a happy, healthy, drug free lifestyle.
The staff of SBYS are trained to work with a variety of issues such as stress, depression, drug and alcohol use, LGBTQIA+, eating disorders, family problems and much more. Counseling services and all activities are open to students who attend GCIT.
Counselors are available between the hours of 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday. The SBYS offices are located in the 100-wing of Gloucester County Institute of Technology.
For more information or to make an appointment please email Joseph Jacob, Director of SBYS at jjacob@gcecnj.org
