Instructions
Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year.
The school year will begin on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at 8:00 am for students.
As typical of a new school year, updated information will need to be completed to ensure a successful school experience. Starting the last week of August, Back to School Information will need to be completed. Those forms will be available on your students PowerSchool account under the "Forms" tab on the left hand side. Parent/Guardians will receive an email when they become available for completion along with information regarding student schedules.
Freshman Meet & Greet
Freshman Meet & Greet and Parent/Student Orientation for the Class of 2029 hosted by School Based Youth Services
August 20, 2025 and August 21, 2025
The Meet & Greet (for students only) will offer the following:
- Student icebreaker sessions with freshman classmates
- Student introduction to teachers, counselors and administrators
- Tours of the building
- Special performance by the GCIT Acting Out Theatre Troupe
- Breakfast and lunch will be served for all students
The Parent/Student Orientation will be a separate session with GCIT administration immediately following the Meet & Greet portion of the day. Parent registration, schedule and ID pickup will take place at approximately 1:00 PM. The parent presentation will run from approximately 1:15 PM - 2:00 PM.
Following the presentation, students and parents/guardians will have the opportunity to walk through the building to find classes.

Gym Uniforms
Gym uniforms may be purchased through the GCIT website* or in person during gym classes. In-person orders may be purchased beginning the first day of school with a check or money order made payable to GCIT. Cash will not be accepted.
Shirt: $8.00
Shorts: $12.00
Hoodie: $25.00
Sweatpants: $20.00
Hoodie & Sweatpants: $42.00
All four items above: $60.00
Shirt and shorts are the minimum mandatory gym uniform but can be any combination of the above.
*A small credit card convenience fee will be added for online payments. Each student must show proof of purchase by either printing their receipt or taking a screen shot of their receipt on their phone.
Please keep in mind you do not have to order/purchase a gym uniform in the beginning of the school year if you do not have Fitness for Life until the second semester.

Senior Trip Information
Student Arrival & Dismissal Procedures
PARENT DROP OFF AND PICK-UP
*500 SIDE ENTRANCE ONLY*
GCIT Student Drop-Off and Pick-Up Procedures:
To ensure the safety of our students and to maintain an efficient traffic flow, please review and follow the procedures below for student drop-off and pick-up.
Designated Times and Locations:
· Morning Drop-Off (7:30 a.m.–8:00 a.m.) Parent/Guardian drop-off for all grade levels will take place at the 500-side entrance ONLY (side entrance by the pool).
· Drop-Off/Pick-Up During School Hours (8:00 a.m.–1:45 p.m.) Parent/Guardian drop-off or pick-up for all grade levels will take place at the 400 Main Entrance ONLY.
· Afternoon Pick-Up (2:27 p.m.–3:00 p.m.) Parent/Guardian pick-up for all grade levels will take place at the 500-side entrance ONLY.
Important: Students may not be picked up early after 1:45 p.m. If you need to pick up your child after this time, you must wait until 2:30 p.m. in the 500-wing student pick-up area.
Parent/Guardian Guidelines:
· Do not park in any GCIT parking lots.
· Do not park in the Bankbridge Elementary School lot and have students walk across.
· Only use the designated entrances and times listed above.
· No private vehicles are permitted in the 100 or 400 wing entrance areas between 7:30–8:00 a.m. and 1:45–2:45 p.m.
· Do not park in vacant parking spaces at dismissal and wait for students to come out—this creates safety hazards and disrupts traffic flow.
· Always follow the traffic flow as directed by the School Safety Officers.
· Do not pull into parking spaces to drop off students.
500-Side Entrance Procedure:
· Vehicles will be directed around parked cars and stopped briefly for student drop-off.
· Approximately 15 vehicles will be directed to the curbside area by the Safety Officer.
· The first vehicle must pull forward to the corner of the building, with all following vehicles moving forward so that all cars reach the curb.
· Once at the curbside, all students must exit vehicles immediately on the passenger (curbside) side.
· Drivers must remain in their vehicles; students should be ready with their belongings to exit quickly.
· After all students have exited safely, the next group of vehicles will be directed to the curbside.

For the safety of your child and others, it is critical that all families follow these procedures and comply with the directions of our School Safety Officers.
