Title I - Parent Information
The Title I Summer Bridge Program that was offered for the SY2023-2024 concluded on Thursday, August 10, 2023. Our students who participated in the program have demonstrated growth in their content area of Mathematics/English Language Arts. Title I Schoolwide letters for the SY2023-2024 will be emailed on August 28, 2023 to the parents/guardians of 9-12 grade students. Letters will highlight the district's ELA and mathematics enrichment opportunities for our students during SY2023-2024.

Certified Coach
Helen Morris is a Columbia University Certified Coach who will be offering confidential, one-on-one wellness coaching sessions throughout the year. The goal of these sessions is to help you create strategies to address your unique situation. As we continue to negotiate changing rules, expectations and goals, we are offering coaching for you or you and your child together. If you would like your child to participate, a parent or guardian must be present. Parents/guardians will have the opportunity to schedule a coaching session via a link that will be distributed through district email.
Coaching is a partnership designed to help you focus on your unique immediate and long-term issues, needs and challenges.
Through the coaching process you will:
- Clarify goals: identify what success will look like and what might get in your way
- Explore options: generate new thinking, insights, perspectives and mindsets
- Create an action plan: implement strategies to confidently navigate forward while nurturing yourself and your family.

Social & Emotional Learning
Rocky is a mindfulness and SEL teacher, coach, and mentor working with schools, athletes, and business professionals. His purpose is to cultivate self-awareness, self-regulation, and self-mastery for our overall development in life performance, wellbeing, interpersonal and social growth. He has an extensive background in mindfulness, for years studying under and working alongside Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant’s mindfulness and performance expert, George Mumford. He’s also been trained through the CASEL framework, University of Pennsylvania Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction program, ACE Behavioral Change Specialist and Health Coaching certifications, Center for Adolescent Studies Advanced Trauma-Informed Care for Professionals Working with Youth and Teaching Mindfulness to Teens among others. Rocky is a married husband and father of three, born and raised in South Jersey.

Mental Health & Wellness
Recognizing that students and parents may be experiencing additional stressors during the COVID-19 pandemic, GCIT will offer Mental Health & Wellness resources for students with no out-of-pocket expenses to our families. GCIT will cover at least 5 mental health sessions for our students with no out-of-pocket expenses to our families. Continuation of services beyond 5 sessions will need to be reviewed for additional funding.
Center for Family Guidance, PC provides behavioral health services to compassionately support health and well-being across the continuum of care. CFG will offer students, families, and staff a wide range of treatment options including individual, couples, family counseling, fit for duty evaluations and medication management. Christina D’Antoni is a licensed Clinical Social Worker who has significant experience providing behavioral health services to students, families, and staff in multiple school settings. All services are provided via a secure HIPAA video platform in the comfort of your own home. Please email GCITintake@cfgpc.com to schedule an appointment.
Nelson Counseling provides individual and family counseling services to students and families. These services are designed to help students achieve their academic, social, and personal goals by providing them with clinical counseling, emotional support, guidance, and advice. The primary role of counseling services is to help students navigate the various challenges that they may encounter during their academic journey. This includes helping students develop healthy coping mechanisms to deal with stress, anxiety, and other emotional issues. Dr. Whitney Supernavage, a board-certified, Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner will offer student support for mental health and wellness. Kim Finnie and Julie Ferdas, New Jersey Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW) will offer student supports for mental health and wellness. Bridge to Balance Inc. provides individuals and families with services that focus on helping them cultivate a sense of balance and wellness in their lives. Their practice offers a 10-week group for teens that teaches the foundations of Dialectical Behavior Therapy, including Mindfulness Skills, Distress Tolerance Skill, Emotional Regulation Skills and Interpersonal Effectiveness Skills. Helen Morris, a Columbia University, certified coach consultant will offer virtual sessions to our parents/guardians. Parents/guardians will have the opportunity to schedule a personalized coaching session via a link that will distributed through district email. The coaching session will focus on your unique need that would make a meaningful difference in how you navigate forward.
These virtual sessions are grant-funded & supported by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund (ESSER II) and Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).
